Weekly Market Outlook

The Dow on Friday rose 259 points or 3.1%, while the S&P added 3.6% and the Nasdaq rose 4.4%. The rally was especially strange considering November job losses in the US came out at 533,000, the worst result since 1974.

Today we will see 3rd Quarter GDP from Japan, as well as current account data and the economy watcher survey. New Zealand sees November house prices and locally we will view November ANZ job ads series.

Key data from the UK, including PPI and IP reads, will be released on Tuesday. Also, Europe discloses the results from the Sentix investor confidence survey and Japan exposes the leading and coincident indices for October. Of particular interest locally will be the RBA governor’s speech and results from the November NAB business survey.
