more SMART IDEAS
Was your New Year's resolution to get your finances sorted? Well "compounding interest" may help you reach that goal!

What is "compounding"? Simply put, it is interest earning interest. Why is it so powerful? Because as the interest that is earned by the initial capital also earns interest, the value of the account grows at an ever-increasing rate, rather than a straight-line rate.

Ways to make compounding work for you...

  • Make time your ally
The longer your money can work for you, the better compounding works, so start investing today and make sure you add to your investment regularly, perhaps monthly or quarterly. You may be able to have this done automatically by setting up a systematic investment plan with your fund company.
  • Reinvest dividends
Instead of taking your fund's distributions in cash, instruct your fund manager to let them remain in your account to purchase additional units.

more Cashback Program
InvestSMART is pleased to announce the addition of two new fund managers to our popular CashBack Program - Australian Unity and HSBC. This brings the number of CashBack fund managers to 14. We will rebate 80% of the trailing commission we receive from CashBack Fund Managers as a result of those investments held with these managers by our CashBack members.

If you have investments with fund managers directly or through other intermediaries and wish to save on entry fees and ongoing trailing commissions either on your existing managed funds or new investments, download a fund dealer nomination form to nominate InvestSMART as your adviser.

For more information about the CashBack Program and to download the Fund Dealer Nomination Form, click here or call us on 1300 880 160.

more Housekeeping
Rebate cheques will be sent out this week to all clients who invested in:

  • James Fielding Retail Portfolio
  • Macquarie ALPS
  • Equinox 4
  • OM-IP Stratum

If you invested in one of these products and do not receive your cheque by the end of next week, please don’t hesitate to contact a member of our friendly client services team on 1300 880 160.

InvestSMART had a fantastic response to our first two products of the year, the Mariner Infrastructure Trust and Babcock and Brown Capital Limited. Both offers have now closed.

The InvestSMART Team
