Did you know parents, relatives and friends can make superannuation contributions on behalf of children who are under the age of 18. Superannuation contributions on behalf of a child can be made up to a limit of $3,000 per child per 3 year period. However, there is nothing to stop a person from opening child accounts with different superannuation funds and contributing the $3,000 limit per 3 year period, with each fund.
